The Minimal Kit: Gear That Actually Matters

Gear is a toolbox, not a trophy case. The right kit helps you work fast, stay present, and keep attention on the story. My minimal setup covers portraits, weddings, and editorial jobs while remaining light enough for all-day shoots and tight travel schedules.

I rely on a primary body with dual slots, a small backup, and three lenses: a fast 35mm for context, a classic 50mm for versatility, and an 85mm for portraits. A pair of compact flashes, a reliable trigger, and a simple modifier round it out. Everything fits in a carry-on backpack with room for batteries, cards, and a collapsible reflector.

Minimalism protects attention. When choices are clear, you think less about settings and more about timing. The images benefit from consistency and intention, and your back will thank you too.
